Why Choose Us
Turning Vision into Reality

SPJ Strategies leverages over 30 years of expertise in governmental strategy and consulting for municipalities, county commissions, and local school districts. Our core strengths lie in problem-solving, solution-oriented consulting, and improving organizational efficiency—especially in areas where your organization may lack the time, staff resources, or institutional expertise to tackle internally.

We recognize that our services may not suit every organizational need. If a project falls outside our scope, we will be the first to acknowledge it. Our commitment to satisfaction is unwavering: for us, "99% satisfied is still not satisfied". This focus enables us to consistently achieve 100% satisfaction by concentrating only on areas where we can make a meaningful impact.

About the Principal

With over 25 years of dedicated  public service to the City of Montgomery, Alabama, I have had the privilege of contributing to my community from an entry-level role out of college to retiring as a senior cabinet member in the Mayor's office. I served four mayors over the course of my career, acting as a cabinet member for three, and working on projects that left a lasting impact on Montgomery’s citizens.

Among my career accomplishments I am proud of , I was honored to chair the commissioning committee for the USS Montgomery (LCS 8) and to serve as the civilian liaison for the Patrouille de France / USAF Thunderbirds joint airshow at Maxwell AFB. Closer to home, I spearheaded the revitalization of the west side farmers market, bringing fresh produce to underprivileged neighborhoods in our city. During my five years as director of the Emergency Management Agency, I oversaw FEMA public and private disaster reimbursement efforts to support community resilience in times of crisis.

After retirement, I spent seven years in the private sector advising K-12 school districts, municipalities, and higher education institutions on energy management strategies. The approach focused on behavior-based solutions that reduced utility consumption through observation and education, avoiding large capital expenses for new equipment. These changes helped clients save millions of dollars in utility costs, allowing them to reinvest those savings directly back into classrooms or community initiatives where resources were most needed.

Alongside my civilian career, I served my country for 25 years in the Alabama Air National Guard as a combat Civil Engineer, completing multiple tours in the Middle East as part of the war on terror. My time in the military reinforced my commitment to community and country, equipping me with the skills and perspectives I brought to my public service career.

I am the proud father of two remarkable daughters, a wonderful son-in-law, and my first grandson who, as it should be, runs the entire operation.
